Originally from New York, Katherine Boren studied at New York University and The New School, graduating from the State University of New York with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in sculpture. Her work has been exhibited in group and solo shows in New York and California, and has recently been featured in Florida at numerous venues in solo, juried, group, and member shows.

Boren's current work experiments with multiple mediums in two dimensions. By focusing on a monochromatic palette and utilizing a combination of untraditional materials in unexpected ways, she emphasizes the reflection of light, varying textures and shapes, and differing grades of color saturation.

Katherine Boren is an annual contributor to the Arts for ACT auction, served as Executive Director of the Young Artists Awards, served as a juror for ArtFest Fort Myers 2011, the Alliance for the Art’s Art Royale: It’s All Elemental, and Cape Coral Art League’s Festival of Art, Color our World, Media Mix, and Celebration exhibits. She is a past president of the Alliance for the Arts, received the Angel of the Arts 2007 Arts Volunteer of the Year award, and was the recipient of the 2010, 2011, 2013, 2014 and 2017 Individual Artist Arts and Culture Grant from the City of Fort Myers.

Boren was a nominee for the Angels of the Arts 2011 Visual Artist of the Year.
